We're all familiar with Journey. We've probably sung one of their songs in some random karaoke joint, heard them on the radio countless times, witnessed a cover band belt out their hits (and pretend they were the real thing), and possibly even slow-danced to them during prom night.
The popular American rock band, which was formed in San Francisco, California, was catapulted into the limelight in the early 80s after they sold millions of album copies and sold out entire stadiums. Since its inception, the band had gone through several changes in their line-up, and somewhere in the middle of their colorful history, they were able to produce numerous hits such as "Don't Stop Believing," "Open Arms," "Faithfully," and more-all under the soaring, tenor voice of Steve Perry.

Powered by an internet phenomenon and an obscure Facebook group, Rick Astley's recent Manila concert proved enjoyable in more ways than one.
An aura of anticipation hovered over the entire Araneta Coliseum last August for 80s icon Rick Astley. Twenty years after hitting it big with "Together Forever," "Whenever You Need Somebody," and "Never Gonna Give You Up," Astley finally made his way to Manila where he was greeted by fans who've grown up to his music.
Rick Astley took to the stage as the crowd cheered and danced the night away. Now 42, he apologized to the audience for not being able to dance like he used to 20 years ago. But it was only after the name change, Jason Wade's marriage, the departure of their original bassist, and the bankruptcy of their old record label, did Lifehouse finally come to Manila.
Their only stop in Asia was ...
The party has not stopped, not yet.
Through his music, Anton Ramos has always successfully constructed that one particular place in time. I am not quite certain if any of you remember the good old days. It was back when we went to Venezia, not just for a drink, but for some pizza. Or to Stars, where you still managed to have a conversation or run into friends you had no time to call during the day, but wished to see, and somewhere in your mind, you hoped to dance with.
It's not the same anymore. We may not be the same either, but some place inside us, we still wished we were, at least I do.
Manila may have seemed much smaller then.
There was a certain comfort in going out at night. It resembled a house party more than it did a bar or a club. More than familiar faces, people ...
