Youth for Peace Concert

“3 Days of Peace & Music @ the Fort”
June 12 -14, 2009 at BNS Parade Ground, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig

Young Filipinos from various youth and student organizations have converged together to initiate a strong, representational youth voice advocating for PEACE through the launching of a three-day, sleep-over PEACE and Music Festival at the Fort under the theme, "Himig ng Kabataan, Musika ng Kapayapaan". This is going to be an unprecedented event, attracting prominent Pinoy bands, artists, and sports personalities, youth achievers and exemplars in public service to mingle with and entertain an expected 10,000 - 12,000 young Filipinos from different schools and youth organizations.

Tickets will be sold by the Youth for Peace Movement—Music Festival Organizers (YPM-MFO) to raise funds for the beneficiaries of the Armed Forces Foundation for Education, Inc (AFFEI). These tickets will also serve as the participants’ ID cards and raffle coupons at the same time for various prizes to be won and intermittently announced during the entire duration of the event.

The event is also envisioned to create an atmosphere conducive for interaction with fellow youths through various daytime activities such as team building; music, arts, and literary competitions, among others. The culmination of the three-day activity is designed to bring forth a written Manifesto of the youth’s strong commitment to Peace and development in the country.

Since this is a sleep-over festival, participants who intend to stay for the entire duration of the event are enjoined to put up their portable tents and bring along sleeping gears and food provisions in designated camp areas. The YPM-MFO will provide the necessary security and manpower requirements as well as logistics requirements such as Portalets, water stations, fire trucks et.al. Stalls for various merchandises will also be made available for business partners and sponsors in the venue to cater to the requirements of all participants.

Lastly, various businesses, charitable institutions, and NGOs are invited to underwrite the event and sponsor components of the activities. Selected media outfits to allow it to be viewed worldwide will cover the entire event live.
